Basics In
. Chaos Decoded.
The Venture Journal exists because business shouldn’t require a degree to understand. Most people never learned the basics, the terms, the frameworks, the way business actually works, and that gap is what makes business feel harder than it should be. We start with the fundamentals. Once you have those, everything else starts making sense.
The Venture Journal is a business education publication built around one idea: understanding business shouldn’t require a degree.
We are not a textbook and we are not a newswire. Every guide we publish is written to take a real business term, framework or concept and explain it the way we wish someone had explained it to us, clearly, honestly, and without assuming you already know the vocabulary.
The publication operates without institutional affiliation, commercial sponsorship of editorial content, or political alignment of any kind. Our independence is not a marketing position. It is the foundation on which everything we write is built.
The Venture Journal did not begin with a strategy document. It began with a simple, familiar frustration: reading about business and not understanding half of what was being said, then feeling like everyone else already did.
That feeling is common, and it is not a personal failing. Most people were never taught how business actually works. Business school teaches it to a select few, in a specialist language, at a cost most people cannot justify. Everyone else is left to piece it together from headlines that assume knowledge they were never given.
“You shouldn’t need a degree to understand the basics of how the world runs.”
Readers who want to understand what a balance sheet actually shows, what a merger really changes, or what terms like inflation or equity mean in practice deserve a place that starts from zero and explains things properly, without talking down to them.
The Venture Journal was built to be that place. The goal has always been simple: to explain business fundamentals well enough that anyone, regardless of background, finishes an article actually understanding the concept, not just recognising the words.
Every reader who arrives at The Venture Journal brings something valuable: their time and their attention. Both are finite. Both deserve to be treated with seriousness.
The commitment of this publication is straightforward. To teach business fundamentals properly, with the clarity and patience they deserve. To cover the wider world only where it genuinely helps that understanding grow. To write for readers who are capable of learning anything, once someone finally explains it properly.
The Venture Journal will not be the fastest source of business content you read. It will aim, without exception, to be the clearest. That is the standard this publication holds itself to, and it is the standard by which readers should judge everything published here.
